Is this the best group of WR?

I thought I heard Jon mention this on Soundoff after the Penn St loss and it doesn't make sense to me.

If you make this argument you are essentially saying that Martin Manley is better than DJK. I don't see it.

Did I hear wrong or do others think this is the best group of WR we have had at Iowa recently?

McNutt yes.....best overall group.....that may not be the case....might have took a back-step with the Penn St performance.

Or that McNutt and Davis are approximately equal to DJK and McNutt of last year (or maybe a little behind) but KMM is better than Davis was last year.

Thus, the best trio. But not that it looked like it last Sat.

McNutt is even better than he was last year. Looks a lot faster, IMO. Davis is WAY better. Martin-Manley isn't DJK right now. But he doesn't have to be, because the other two have made strides in their own games since last year, especially Davis.

IMO, these guys have a long ways to go to prove that. McNutt is the real deal, but the other two have had drop issues since the first game. Certainly Davis has improved, but you can't drop the freaking ball if you can get your mitts on it. In a tight game, these will absolutely kill you.

Here's a thought. How do you think the Penn State game goes if Neilsen gets the pick and returns it? Then on the drive where McNutt drops an easy first down we get a field goal or a TD. I'm not saying those two plays would have won us the game, but it would have been great to find out how those things would have changed field position and momentum.

You can't call this group the best until they prove they can be consistent. You can't drop easy plays on the ball.

We miss DJK a ton he could beat man press coverage a high percentage of the time. McNutt is a good WR not elite has to work on things like everyone does, but last year combo of DJK, McNutt, and Reisner was way stronger IMO.

Well Reisner wasn't a WR, so his ability doesn't matter in this particular argument.

These WR's have had the best 5 quarters of football that I can remember any group have. Too bad that 4 of them were against ULM. So if we define it that way, then sure - they're the best.

McNutt is the best reciever in the BIG this year. But still Ferentz and co. only throw it to him a handful of times a game. This coaching staff is holding us back, not the players.
