Is there really NO ONE better than Meyer?

Missing chip shot field goals and 35 yd kickoffs are KILLING US! I swear we are the only team in the nation that cannont kick the ball in the endzone even with the wind! Combine this with terrible kick coverage and teams are starting at mid-field.

When I saw the angle I knew that drive was gonna end without points.

The field goal he missed was at a really hard angle, I'm actually suprised that's the only one he missed

He won the game for us, so I'd cut him some slack.
FYI-there was a breeze today that was knocking balls down all day.

Hey is usually great on kickoffs...and some of those kicks were hard angles....before its all said and done he will be a great kicker

I think Meyer has had his best game of the year. A lot of pressure when your offense isnt scoring tds

What happened to his kick offs though? I cant remember the last touchback that wasnt aided by the wind.

In one direction, but you also have the wind at your back for 2 quarters and yet didn't even get close to sniffing the endzone. That is **** poor. And he didn't win the game, he put the game in jeopardy. Hit that 25yd field goal and who cares if they score. His best kick was the low flying 42yd field goal. Remember when that used to be near automatic for Iowa kickers?

When has 5/5 ever been "automatic" for anyone in football.

I'm OK with the FG kicking today as the miss was far outweighed IMO by the confidence he gained in making his longer one late in the game when there was even more pressure. I'm more disappointed in our red-zone offense especially when you consider we had the bigger Coker moving 3 & 4 guys at times but they still could not run one in.

How can you complain about a guy going 4/5? That 42 yarder was clutch as hell.

Because 4 of the 5 were hardly even 25 yds. The 42 was decent, but that's pretty much what is the norm and expected from college kickers. The fact that we wet our pants on a 42 yd field goal says how bad our kicking game really is. I'm tired of teams starting at the 40 yd line b/c Meyer can't kick it past the 10 or 15yd line. He's putting even more stress on an already sad coverage team.

I think wind was a factor on the kickoffs holding them up, have to kick more line drive, but our coverage has been horrible.

His field goal kicking and kickoffs are two different positions and two completely different parts of the game.

Ya I havent been happy with meyer all year but he made up for it today. we dont win today without his pressure kicks

Hard to run it in when you are passing 20 times.

Meyer had a good day. 4/5 is good, and a very short kick from the hash is a difficult kick, and he went 2/3 on those. The only time a 42 yarder has been money in the bank was when we had Lou Groza award winner and current NFL kicker Nate Kaeding on the squad.
