Is the Super 64 NCAA Football Party Already Set?

Many, but we only play eight CONFERENCE games. That will go to NINE soon, but it will NEVER go to ELEVEN.

Maybe not but for a nay-sayer stating that a 16 team conference could not work it could be done. For most teams in the B1G it's playing one more BCS level game and shortening the non-con to one opponent. That would guarantee the BTN 11 x 16 (and possibly all 12 assuming the non-con will be at home) games to either place on the BTN or sell the marquee matchups to the highest bidder; ESPN, Fox, CBS, NBC, etc.

When we play ISU this year as an example this game will not be on the BTN nor the B1G's property. A super conference schedule will lock content in and as a fan provide me more of what I want to see -> intriguing conference match-ups. Not games against the Lousiana-Monroe's of the world.

So other than you 'saying' it won't or can't be.... I've seen you post nothing of substance to refute anything.

Good point. No one watches BCS college football. It's deader than a doornail. Everyone loves playoffs so much. That's why FCS(1-AA) gets such good ratings and huge TV contracts.

The conference commissioners are more than happy to admit that they've left money on the table with a playoff, in favor of keeping the current bowl system.

You haven't posted anything of substance to prove why it would happen. Other than your 'saying' it will. It seems very unlikely that schools are going to give up two cupcakish nonconference games.

I really don't understand the difference between 4 16 team conferences and eight 8 team conferences. Because you can't call a 16 team league a traditional conference as we currently know and define it. It becomes more like the AFC/NFC or the AL/NL in baseball. You will rarely play the other teams in your "conference", but you will split all the revenue. So why even call it a conference? Just place 64 teams in a pool and randomly generate a schedule. That is what it seems some of you want because if you are in favor of a 16 team "conference" then you do not care about tradition or who you play. This would ruin college football and I honestly think would have a negative impact on fan attendance and participation. I also think the B1G will resist moving to 16 teams. Delaney will never be bullied into doing something he doesn't want to do or doesn't think is in the best interest of the conference. I think it would be awesome if the SEC, Pac 10/12/16, ACC/Big East would go to 16 and the Big Ten stays at 12. We would easily survive and IMO THRIVE as a result. I don't understand why people make this blanket statement that if the Pac whatever and the SEC go to 16 that the Big Ten would need to as well? Why? Will we stop playing football and not be invited to the BCS bowls? Would ESPN stop paying us money? Would the BTN fold? Of course not. Delaney...stay at 12!!!
