CBS showing highlights of Indiana-Michigan from '93 is another reminder of just how far the talent level in college has fallen since then. The Fab Five for Michigan, Alan Henderson, Calbert Cheaney, Damon Bailey, there just aren't teams like that out there in today's game.

The talent level of college basketball hasn't fallen since the Fab Five.

The talent level of buying players to play for the same team has fallen since the Fab Five.

Or, there is a lot more balance among college basketball teams currently. Also, there are a lot more good basketball players out there than there have been in the past. Just some alternative thoughts for you to consider...

And these good players want to play right away. They go where they can play right away...resulting in the balance you mentioned.

It absolutely has. Not sure how you can even make an argument about that. There just isn't the quality of upperclassmen that you saw back then. Too many early NBA defections now.

There's a lot more balance because the top end talent doesn't stick around for 3-4 years anymore. The elite teams are nowhere near as good as they used to be.
