Is ND any good?

I am worried about Notre Dame because they have been a good program under Brey and for the factors discussed by others; travel fatigue, wear and tear of three games in three nights, etc. Will the energy be there for another quality game and you never know about our shooting.

I am also worried about Drake as they are playing good basketball. We need this game and Drake to make sure we come out of the non-con with no more than two losses. I have already chalked ISU up as a definite loss.

TC Hawk, exactly why are you on this board? All you do is hijack posts with negativity. What a loser hobby. Yuk. Iowa is a top 25 team. EXACTLY which teams do you think should be in the top 25 ahead of them?

This is interesting stats , and we're still a dangerous team.. If you look up the players stats in Big Ten. We have several players in everything. Even Gabe Olansei !
Nice to see all your posts. Keep up good works , gentlemen.

Based on the article linked - They like to run...so does Iowa. They play a 4 guard line up...height advantage Iowa. They haven't played a road game...makes home court advantage an even bigger factor. They actually lost a home game...couldn't protect the home court so another positive.

I felt confident about this game before reading the article. I feel even more confident now...still don't think Iowa will lose at home this season.

ND doesn't run that much. They pick their spots because they have good guards but they tend to lean towards a half court offense.

Watched ISU and ND play in the tourney last year. This year's ND team does not seem to be as good as last year's after the lost that one really good post they had. ISU attached the basket and did it at and up temo pac and had good success. I think with how well this team runs we should be able to get and hold a lead on this team. Just need to board well and keep T/O down. Hawks by 8

They have played as easy of a schedule as Iowa did pre-Bahamas, and are 5-1 with their lone loss to Indiana State. They are long and rank second in the country in assists per game.

It almost feels like a trap game for Iowa. On paper we are the better team, but after playing 3 games in 3 days, and then having an extra long layover on the way home, it just has that sort of feel to it.

On a side note, it will be a homecoming of sorts as Gabe will be going against on of his former teammates, and a player Iowa heavily recruited in Eric Katenda. He probably won't see the floor but in high school he was the better player between him and Gabe. He suffered an eye injury in a pickup game a few years ago and is now blind in one eye because of it. SI had a story on it a year ago.

Notre Dame's Eric Katenda, Marquette's Chris Otule's eye injuries - Rob Dauster - SI.com

The combined record of the five teams they have beaten is 3-31.
The combined record to the five teams Iowa beat pre - B4A was 16-28.

Figure in their other games and ND's opponents have a combined record of 8-33.
Iowa's opponent's have a combined record of 32-35.

Their schedule to this point is much weaker than Iowa's.
