Is Kyonta Stallwarth our next recruiting coup?

I think some of you are only reading what you want to read; there are many posts on that site that are fairly objective and rational, e.g., noting that MSU has done this as well, including the Barrant kid from Iowa who ended up at MSU.

There might be many posts that say that, but there are many more that bash Iowa like they are in the SEC or should be in the prison league.

Even when Iowa has had the isolated truly bad incidents, those guys were never again part of the team.

MSU had a guy released from jail on Thusday play at Iowa on Saturday. This occurred right after Dantonio screamed at the media that he was implementing "zero tolerance".

Chris Rucker as my post pointed out about 10 posts earlier.

This post kills me.

"Iowa has signed five Top 10 players out of the state of Michigan in the last ten years.
Dominique Douglass - dismissed after one year due to multiple arrests
Anthony Bowman - dismissed after one year due to multiple arrests
Cedric Everson - dismissed before one year due sexual assault charges
Austin Gray - left before one year due to high school girlfriend's pregnancy
Tyler Weigers - just arrived on campus, currently defying the odds
They do have a few less heralded Detroit kids on the roster, though, including his former teammate Jalen Embry."

What are the MSU fans afraid of? That the prison population in Michigan will start to drop if we keep recruiting their in state players? :)

Id say our success with Detroit kids is much less a reflection of us, and much more a reflection of Detroit. Ya say?? Yep

Of recent Detroit vintage, Davis, Duzey, and Desmond King have worked out (all quite spectacularly). And Austin Gray, Kevin Buford, Ruben Lile, and Laron Taylor have not.

No known criminal among them. Lile was injured alot. Talyor was down on the depth chart. Gray never made it here. And Buford transfered after playing as a freshman.

So we are shooting just under 50% on a small sample size. And we've landed a couple All Big-10/NFL types.

In comparison, I wonder what percentage of small town iowa recruits have gotten into severe trouble? Definitely a Detroit thing.
