Is Kirk right?

His instinct to not fire coaches and instead work together to try to fix things seems to have worked out well on defense and special teams. But Kirk seems to have 1 blind spot when it comes to one of his coaches....

As I stated 3 or so weeks ago, I am going to enjoy this for what it is. Come January, we can debate all this in regards to the future of the Iowa football program, but for NOW I am just going to enjoy the ride.

I’ve decided it’s Kirk’s world and we’re just living in it
And yes we do well in the west division but is this are goal? We can’t compete in the east. So again what’s are goals just keeping the fans happy enough to go to a decent bowl . Are the donors happy?

The donars are happy, Iowa is 49-19 since 2018. That’s going to make any program backers pretty happy. They can only play the teams on their schedule and it’s Kirks job to figure out how to beat teams iowa gets to face. He’s doing well at it. What’s going to happen in the future is not really a concern because who knows? This could likely be one of Iowa’s last season to play for something, try and enjoy instead of worrying about what Iowa will do in games down the road with schedules that could change several times depending on the all mighty dollar. Good chance that’s all with a new staff anyways so why worry?

Hard to argue he doesn’t know what’s best for Iowa football the last 5 seasons despite the fans frustration.

Lay back and take it.
This is so spot on, and so what I've been trying to explain for five years.

We weren't always this backwards conservative. Nor was Brian. Look at the scores from the Stanley era 2018 and 2019 seasons.

We literally need one or two plays from this offense. That's it. Our defense and special teams will carry the rest of the day, as much as it disgusts then sensibility of the average Iowa fan.

It's like trying to argue what Connor Mac could bring to a game with court savvy alone, and despite his funny, but proven most accurate on the team, three point shot.

Hope people enjoyed Connor while he was here cause we're gonna miss him. Gonna miss Kirk when he's done as well.

Ive come to realize it is what it is,

I just want an identity on offense. If its a power run game between the guards, so be it.

Just keep winning.

I was as much into the game Saturday as I've been in a long time. It may not been an offensive explosion but how could anyone say that wasn't exciting? I think the fact that we came in as underdogs and played such a physical game on both sides of the ball made it all the more enjoyable. I didn't expect to win (my pregame prediction was 20-10 Badgers).

I hope we can get the passing game going, of course. It would really make this team tough to beat. Because the O-Line has improved a LOT. We could win out but it also wouldn't surprise me to see at least one stinker along the way.

I was grinning from ear to ear when we got a few first downs on the opening drive and pinned them deep on the first punt. It sure would have been nice if they would have called offensive pass interference on that play where the receiver fully extended his arms to push off DeJean on that long pass, but I get it, Wisconsin and Michigan State never hold or commit PI.
