Is Iowa bball cursed?

Please. They played well. That was a prayer. Play that game 5 more times and we win 4/5. They just had a guy have a career game and barely scraped by.
 
was going to say before everyone goes and jumps off a bridge get behind the wrestling team with has and always will be in the title hunt!

OK but that guy was a true freshman so I don't want to hear anyone use "we are a young team" as the reason they let one slip away.
 
Cursed? Absolutely.

It never fails - someone always has a career frigging night against us, and absolutely can NOT miss all night long.

When was the last time someone missed a last second, game-winning 3 against us? Of course, Gatens' 3 with a minute to go is half way down and comes back out.

By the way, I still think Gatens was fouled on that last drive to the rim. Looked like some wrist on the replay. No call. BS.

Um, I know it's easy to throw a tantrum after this year's pathetic performance, but there aren't many teams that win a BCS game like we did last year. Calling us d-2...I think I smell a drama queen...
 
I was surprised that we even had a chance at the end. I thought we played well except that 8 minute stretch to start the second half. Terrell was hot we didn't do a good job identifying him early and he punished us. Gatens need to get off his *** and score more than 3 points/game for us to have a chance to win any games. He hid back in the woodwork the whole game. Fran tried to set things up for him twice at the end and he blew both opportunities. Nuff said.

Our true freshman played pretty well too. Marble had an excellent game I thought. Basabe looked more comfortable. Zach's shot was kind of off tonight but he still hit some shots. It was our first real road game this year. Not using that as an excuse, it's just a fact. You could tell this team really tightened up once the crowd started getting into it and WF starting going on there run.

It's another learning experience. I was proud with how the Hawks played tonight.

I can't think of the last time. It never frickin' fails....the other teams' game winning three ALWAYS goes in.

Still....this team is only going to get better.
 
Agreed. I like the way we played for 3/4 of the game....that 1/4 killed us! At least we look like we know what we are doing this year. Lickliter hiring threw us back 7 years!
 
They were playing the way they are capable in the 1st half. Young teams will drift from time to time as Iowa did in the 2nd half, but it was a great response by them to comeback from the 10 point deficit. Iowa needs Gatens to pickup his scoring big time. I don't know why he continues to double clutch and fade away at the hoop. He is creating space for the shot blocker. With that said, great effort by the Hawks tonight.
