Is Barta really more tone deaf than Kirk

You absolutely know the press conference wasn't KF idea. No way does he both release a depth chart, and have a press conference unless he was forced to by Barta.

So my question is how fing stupid is Barta? What was the point of this, and what did he hope to accomplish? I know it is hard to fathom, but I think Barta is more incompetent at his job than Kirk is at his. He needs to go ASAP, too bad that WVU didn't take him.
 
That's obviously how it looks. How could anyone think this was a good idea? If Barta actually did think this was the smart course of action then he needs to go because he's a lunatic.

Think about this. Could Barta have set this up? Many Hawk fans who are already beyond frustrated tune in to hear this big press conference hoping to hear something to give them hope that the program will improve. Rumors that Ferentz may retire or at the very least he might realize that he needs to change and will shake up the staff and bring in some assistants and give them more freedom to take ownership of their job with regards to their system and personnel decisions.

Instead of hope for the future Ferentz comes out and says they are just gonna keep shoveling the same crap and calling it good. Maybe he is counting on the fence sitters of the fanbase to finally stand up and say that they're mad as hell and aren't gonna take it anymore.

I'm not saying that this is true, it's just the only scenario I could think of that would make sense, I'm just hoping that nobody in this athletic department is actually stupid enough to think that calling a press conference and saying what they said today was a good idea.

Barta is about as honest at KF claiming the QB spot was an "open competition" this year.

He knows his seat is hot as hellz right now, that is motive. I find it 100X more likely that this was Barta's idea than I do it was KF's idea.

I just don't understand why. Barta had already given him the vote of confidence. It's funny. On one hand, many folks say Kirk is really the boss and he tells Barta what he's going to do when he wants to do it. Then, when he says he wants to talk to the press, it's not his idea. :)

It's Kirk fatigue. People just want a change. I don't necessarily disagree. It looks to me like Kirk is finally reacting to some of the criticism that has been going on for years. Will it help? Most likely not if history is our guide. However, I don't think either Kirk or Barta are liars. That's going a bit far, IMO.

I know a couple of BIG donors and they are very close to KF and don't want him to go no matter what his record might be. They don't care about the football team, except that they have good seats, and whatever else they want. Guys like this have GB by the balls and are really the ones in charge.

I think the presser just sank the ship for all three of them ( Barta, Ferentz and Mason) because that thing just blew up in their face from how i see it. Unfortunately it might not happen until the end of next season by the looks of things.
 
That's a football presser. Just need to execute them better and they'll turn into wins for the school.

Are you really that stupid? What would you expect him to say? "Yep, I tried to get a better job, but it didn't work out. Looks like I'm stuck here. BTW, season tickets go on sale in 2 months."
