Maybe Rob will know from talking with some in the athletic dept.

What is the protocol going to be if a coach or player tests positive for COVID-19? I presume that said coach or player will quarantine for a period of time but what about the rest that have been in contact. If a certain number test positive will they shut the entire sport down for a time until all test neg again? How many would that take?

Just curious about the protocol plans for the athletic programs. I suppose football could be a bit more different.

During the week of June 15 to June 21, the department conducted 40 COVID-19 tests, which resulted in 31 negative tests and nine positive tests.

Previously, the department identified three positive cases. As a result, officials started contact tracing procedures, isolating people who tested positive and quarantining others who were possibly exposed.

“While we have experienced an increase in positive tests, almost all are related to individuals who had been in quarantine due to our contact tracing and developed symptoms,” stated Dr. Andrew Peterson, UI associate professor and head team physician, in a release. “Our overall process, including testing and daily health screening, is working as expected.
