Iowa's program

Kirk said everything is fine. However On days like this I see how far the hawkeyes have fallen. The caliber of play on NY day is very high and that is why it's fun to watch. Radically different than what KF has produced of late.

You are correct. The 2002-04 and 2008-2010 KF teams had the strength, some good speed, and athleticism to play on new years day but right now the hawks look slow, weak and not nearly as athletic as these teams today.

KF has a lot of work to do.

Agree. Northwestern is what Iowa use to be. Iowa is what Northwestern use to be. Iowa is without question the bottom feeder in the division next year. Think Northwestern can win it. Michigan and Nebraska will be up there too. Minnesota keeps improving and MSU falls a bit. Iowa is hands down the worst team in division. We are only team w/o a QB also. Amazing how far Iowa has fallen. Where the h*ll was the momentum from the Orange Bowl win? Oh well, that's football.

Thanks for the laughs.

We are the only team in our division that didn't go to a bowl game. We also are only Big Ten team without a returning QB. All the teams got additional practice and an extra game. Please explain to us who you think we are better than based on results from this season and what we have returning on the field and coaching staff.

If I was a MSU fan, I wouldn't feel to good about the QB situation either. I'd feel awful actually. Minnesota's QB showed some flashes but also gave away their bowl game to TT. TM still can't throw against a defense with a pulse. Are they ahead of Iowa right now? Absolutely. But an average BCS QB is better than all of them.

Gardner can play, NW will always have a good QB or two for their system. Iowa is way behind those two at that position.

We returned a QB and went to a bowl game last year. Didn't work out so well this year based on that premise.

Didn't know Iowa went 0-5 in divisional play. If I remember right, Iowa beat Minnesota handily and Michigan St. in overtime. I haven't checked to see what MSU or Minny loses, but Iowa doesn't lose much. And is not having a returning QB a bad thing considering the QB play in 2012? We get that people are unhappy about the way things are going right now, but there's no point in rehashing the same material over and over again. It's basketball and wrestling season in which Iowa's 3 teams are doing good. Sit back and enjoy the show and worry about football in the fall.

We return more starters (9 on offense and 10 on defense) than anyone else in the B10. The QB you are worrying about replacing was the worst Iowa QB of my lifetime so its hard to imagine a situation in which our QB play doesn't improve, snd likely improve dramatically. Our other problem area (DL) is also likely to improve next year. Lastly next year is when many of those recruits from the Orange Bowl recruiting class come into their own.

Its almost impossible for Iowa NOT to improve from last year. A 7 or 8 win season seems very likely next year.

with next year's schedule I don't know how they get to a bowl, in addition you throw in a QB who has never sniffed a meaningful snap in major college football and then add a sprinkle of schemes that are predictable and I see another 3 to 5 win season.

How many non-bowl seasons before Iowa becomes a program that is comatose and on life support? I mean, if it is hard to recruit to Iowa NOW, imagine next yr! No high-level recruit will look at Iowa after another 4-8 non-bowl record-have to hope and pray for the reincarnation of Bob S. and Dallas C.

Tell us what "we" are doing about it. And why "we" let things degenerate to this point.

Thanks.

Already starting.. It used to be that Iowa was listed with a lot of High Profiles recruits as a school of interest. Not anymore.

It was the same way prior to 2002. Things havent been good the last couple years and KF is responsible for some of it (yes, ultimately he is responsible for all things concerning the team...just thought i preempt the obvious retort). But to soundly believe that things are unrepairable...well...is your choice i guess.
