Decided to take a look at the statistics now that the conference season is 1/2 of the way complete. Iowa is looking impressive on defense!

National Rankings:

Total Defense: #7
Rushing Defense: #5
Scoring Defense: #6
Pass Defense: #41
Yds Allowed per Pass Attempt: #13
Passing Efficiency Defense: #14 (4 BIG teams ranked AHEAD of Iowa in this category nationally)
Interceptions: T-#11
Fumbles Gained: T-#21
Total Turnovers Gained: T-#7
Total Turnover Margin: #6
Red Zone Defense: #8
Defensive TD's Scored: T-#7
Sacks: T-#14
3rd Down Conversion % Defense: #36

Desmond King is tied for 1st nationally for Interceptions.

Michigan and Wisconsin defenses also rank highly in almost every statistical category.

We have a "very good" Defense... may not fit the "great" catagory yet...but they are capable and on the verge of being there. We are solid and play with abandon, while remaining in position (generally)...the qb was slippery yesterday, but he is an athletic running qb that while creating yards and headaches, he alone cannot produce wins.
