Iowa's current RPI...

Never have liked the RPI. I do like the Coaches Poll and KenPom.....

If we win tomorrow, we should stay in the top 25, perhaps number 25.....

Just a wild guess.....

Ranked teams that lost today...

4 Syracuse
5 Kansas
7 Louisville
9 Creighton (to Xavier...Nice)
10 St. Louis
11 Cincinnati
15 Iowa State
17 Kentucky
18 Michigan State
24 Texas

Don't really like to double post but I did post this on Conn53's thread:

Ten of the NCAA men's top - 25 teams lost to underdogs today.....

That is why, if we beat Purdue, we might still be in the top 25.....

Top 25 teams are losing the past two weeks.....

Number 5, Syracuse lost 3 of 4

Number 8, St. Louis lost 2 this week

Number 12, Cincinnati lost 2 of 3 the past two weeks

Number 15, Kentucky lost 2 this week

Number 18, Michigan State lost 3 of the last 4 games

Number 19, Iowa lost 3 in a row

Number 20, Ohio State lost at Penn State

Number 23, Texas lost 3 0f 4

Dropping like flies.....

Perhaps will work in our favor.....

This is going to be a crazy NCAA tournament.

You like the coaches poll? You realize coaches have no time to watch all the teams in the coaches poll. Hell coaches don't even really vote. There were stories of football coaches having a SID vote. Coaches poll is a complete joke.

I figured this was common knowledge to "long time" college sports fans. Coaches poll is just a vote for your buddy, or have a SID, grad assistant or some other staff member vote. Kenpom is great but the only issue one coyld hqve with kenpom is it's really best when the regular season ends to get enough sample size. It is not a predictive model, it is a model used to weed out things after they happen.

I guess I am an idiot though.

Yes you are an ignorant fool, all you had to do was say I prefer another poll, instead of being confrontational. I personally like the coaches poll because they rate the Hawks higher. They were sanctioned by USA TODAY and ESPN you know.....

Beginning in 1993, USA Today and CNN took over publishing the coaches' basketball poll for UPI. Beginning in the 1993-1994 basketball season, the Coaches' Poll began publishing its final poll after the NCAA basketball tournament. From 1995 to 2001, the poll was co-sponsored by USA Today and the NABC. Finally, in 2002, ESPN joined as a co-sponsor of the Coaches' Poll along with USA Today and the National Association of Basketball Coaches where select NABC members serve as the voting block for the poll. ESPN used to retain its involvement with the basketball poll despite no longer being involved with the football poll.

The ESPN Poll is almost identical with the Coaches Poll.....

So do you think some of the sportswriters are infallible and not prone to regional bias.....
