Iowa's basketball announcers...

Caught the end of your game on KXNO as I was leaving work, and was tuning into M&M. I had always thought that Dolph did basketball as well, because until I went to college I rooted for both Iowa and Iowa State (my mom is a big Hawk fan), and I remember Dolph calling the games back then. I probably hadn't listened to an Iowa bball in almost 10 years, so it caught me by surprise.

Has Dolph completely backed away from basketball, are my childhood memories twisted over time, or was it a temporary sort of thing? Dolph is a lot better than the guys who were calling the game.

BB team was in the Virgin Islands over the weekend.. Dolph could not do both the football game on Saturday as well as the basketball game, therefore they had to send someone else... I believe he is the guy who usually does Women's BB for the hawks.

Ah. Wasn't aware they were playing down there. I guess I knew it was a preseason tournament, but I didn't know where. That makes sense.

You can still root for both DSMClone. There is always an extra seat at the bar... ;)

I mostly avoid schadenfreude when it comes to Iowa athletics anymore (particularly on the hardwood), but I still can't bring myself to actively cheer for the Hawks.

It was Jim Albrecht, he usually hosts the pregame/postgame shows on the Football broadcasts. The women's broadcasts are done by Brent Balbinot... he's pretty good, they were back in Iowa City for the Women's Hawkeye Challenge.

Thank you.. thought Albrecht did a pretty good job... I do like Balbinot doing womens bb and h.s. football as well. Got some pretty good play by play guys in the Iowa City area.
