I was born in 75 so my formative years were the mid 80's. I remember thinking even as a little kid how lucky I was that my team was good at both sports. Hopefully we can get back to the point where both sports have the potential to do great things.

Born the same year, felt the same way. And I never considered that I wouldn't be able to enjoy football or basketball season. Then the wheels fell off the football program and, boy, did that suck. Only to be followed a decade later by the basketball program. But, hey, it built character. Now I actually appreciate the effort it takes to be consistently good.
