Iowa vs SIU-Eds updates

St John rides him out but gets a stall point. Gives up a late escape in last 5 seconds. Leads 5-2 after the 2nd. Takes down in the 3rd.
 
St John gets the quick reversal and is riding tough again. He picks up another stall point to lead 8-2 with about 30 seconds left.
 
Derek rides him out and with riding time wins 9-2. Hawks lead 25-0 at intermission.

Not real sure why he didn't cut him loose and at least get the major there. He had almost 6 minutes of riding time.
 
Kinda seemed St. John was either trying to work on riding or was taking it easy, and the coaches didnt seem to really mind. Figured they would be yelling at him to let him up.
 
I was impressed with Matt Ballweg's attitude going after the TF with just a few seconds left. Nice job getting that last TD.
 
Matt looked really good tonight and will be our guy the rest of the way. I don't think that he'll be an AA or anything but he should be solid and a national qualifier. He is much better down at 149!
 
Jannsen is looking really sharp tonight and has 3 nice takedowns and some back points already. And there is the fall in 2:46! 31-0 Hawks
 
Ethan locks up a cradle but tries going the wrong way with it and gives up a reversal. Now leads 8-5 with 30 seconds left in the 2nd and getting ridden hard.
 
Ethan gets the reversal before the end of the period and leads 10-5 after 2. SIU will start the 3rd period down.
 
Grant is beating up on this kid and having his way with him. He leads 8-3 2 minutes in and is working the bear hug. He gets him over and there is the fall in 2:28! Hawks lead 40-0
 
SIU starts down and gets out. Luke gets the quick takedown, locks up the cradle and gets the fall in 3:36! 46-0 Hawks
