The season is on the brink in this one. If we don't come out and win by double digits today against a mediocre Purdue team AT HOME this could be another NIT year. At that point I've got concerns about Fran doing anything meaningful with this program other than 5th and 6th place conference finishes. Not what you'd call upper echelon program.

top 5 pr 6 in the big ten is a guaranteed tourney bid every year.

Lose the next 3 with a 1st round loss in the tournament and I'm not sure you'll be number 6 in the conference. You are already a 1/2 game behind Nebraska for Pete's sake. Yes number 5 in teh conference probably does it but you won't be there if you lose the last 3 games.

Jerry Palm was asked what Iowa has to do not to get in the dance. He responded not accept the invite. Iowa can lose out and still make the tourney.

19-13 and 8-10 conference and losing 7 in a row gets in? I'm not so sure about that, I seriously doubt we see that happen. However If it did I don't want our fate in the hands of a committee. Iowa would be very, very, very bubbly at 19-13 overall and 8-10 conference..

I don't think PU can score to keep up with us. Even if we play the same poor perimeter D we've been playing, PU can't stick the 3 ball. Hammons can't seem to stay out of foul trouble and doesn't (apparently) have the ability to stay energized for a full 40 minutes. The only way PU beats us is if they out rebound us by a wide, wide margin. And if that happens, we've got a serious problem, because rebounding is "want to". But we shouldn't get out rebounded by PU simply because we are so much taller and longer than they are.

Quit posting in this thread. Meat needs to start the party the rest of the season and turn this around. No offense OP..but don't start another game thread the rest of the year

NO KIDDING - busabus114 reminded me and I'm 0/3 should probably take it down. I just don't think I have that much power on wins and loses for the Hawks. Thanks for the reminder.
