125 McDonough maj Pataky 4-0
133 Long dec Ramos 4-3
141 Marion dec Alton 7-3
149 Molinaro maj Ballweg 7-7
157 Taylor dec St John 7-10 Still think this will be closer than people think
165 Janssen dec Kemmerer 10-10
174 Ruth dec Lofthouse 10-13
184 Gambrall dec Wright 13-13
197 Lofthouse major Ruggear 17-13
285 Wade dec Rasing 17-16 Hawks!

Is Wade that good or are you giving him the nod due to Raising being up and down? Marion wrestling would be neat and many think he will this week. We need 4-6 points from McD....just have to have it I think

It depends on what you mean by "that good." Wade is a really good HWT and a probably all american this year. He's not what I would call great but he is good and I think ahead of Rasing at this point.

St John beat David Taylor in freestyle this summer

I know nothing about freestyle wrestling, so I'm not sure how much that actually matters.

I'm a little worried about Marion vs Alton

Alton nearly beat Kellen Russell

Lots of wrestlers nearly beat Russell. He keeps matches close regardless of the competition level.

I think that David Taylor is the real deal and is going to be hard to figure out the next 4 years. On the other hand, I think that Ruth and Alton are beatable. Ruth isn't the best technician and uses his athletic ability to get out of some situations but that won't always work. I think that people will catch onto Alton's style and study him enough to slow him down in his career. Russell may have only beat him by 1 but he slowed him down and controlled that match.

I don't see Molinaro getting a major over Ballweg. Molinaro is tough but 8 points is a lot. If he's able to keep that to a decision I'd be pretty pleased. If Marion is able to beat Alton and Ballweg keeps it close, we'll have a really good shot at this one.

McD dec. Pataky 3-0
Long maj. Ramos 3-4
Alton dec. Marion/Ballweg 3-7
Molinaro maj. Ballweg 3-11
Taylor dec. DSJ 3-14
Janssen dec. Kemmerer 6-14
Ruth dec. Lofthouse 6-17
Gambrall dec. Wright 9-17
Lofthouse dec. Ruggear 12-17
Wade dec. Rasing 12- 20

At 184 - if Q. Wright is healthy, I think he beats Gambrall. Wright looked afully good two years ago before red shirting.

McD pins Pataky 6-0
Long dec. Ramos 6-3
Marion dec. Alton 9-3
Molinaro dec. Ballweg 9-6
Taylor dec. DSJ 9-9
Janssen dec. Kemmerer 12-9
Ruth dec. Lofthouse 12-12
Wright dec. Gambrall 12-15 (hate how Grant is wrestling right now)
Lofthouse dec. Ruggear 15-15
Rasing dec. Wade 18-15

FF, i think Ruth and Alton are very close to Taylor's level. Don't forget Taylor red shirted and Alton is a true freshman. And he's almost been as dominant and is a bonus point machine. I don't know how you catch on to his style either. he's so dangerous. Yeah i could see guys slowing him down some, but that's far from beating him. People tried to slow down Metcalf too and weren't real successful.
Ruth has dominated Lewnes and Hendrick this year. He beat both of them as a red shirt freshman worse than Borschel did last year as a 5th year Senior.

:confused:I don't have a good feeling about this dual either.
125#. Mcdonough dec.
133# Long major dec.
141# Alton dec.
149# Molinaro dec.
157# Taylor major decision.
165# Kemmerer dec.
174# Ruth major dec.
184# Gambrall dec.
197# Lofthouse major decision.
HWT. Wade dec.
Looking forward to, 141#, if Marion is wrestling. 157#, 174#, and 133#.

125 McDonough maj Pataky 4-0 Pataky has been banged up which could help. We need a fall here I think if we want a shot to win.

133 Long dec Ramos 4-3 I think Long is good enough for bonus points but probably just not in good enough shape yet. If Ramos can keep in close in the early part of the match, he could have a shot at an upset.

141 Marion dec Alton 7-3. This is the one match I’m looking forward to. Have no idea what to expect out of marion. He was inconsistent at times last year. If he is this match, he will lose.

149 Molinaro maj Ballweg 7-7 Just two completely different levels.

157 Taylor Maj St. John. 7-11 Taylor has been wrestling like a beast and StJohn has not at all. I think it’s closer by big tens though

165 Janssen dec Kemmerer 10-11. I never really feel great w/ Janssen, but I think he wins this one.

174 Ruth maj Lofthouse 10-15 I hope I’m wrong here but if he’s beating Lewnes and Henrich by 5 points, I’m not sure how we keep it closer than that. Good test for Lofthouse.

184 Wright dec Gambrall 10-18. Wright is an underrated guy on this team.

197 Lofthouse dec Ruggear 13-18 Don’t really know much about Ruggear, so I’m just hoping to get the win here.

HWT Wade dec Rasing 21-13

I just think we are going to have to wrestle out of our @ss to win this dual. If we come out flat it could get REAL ugly. It will be a great measuring stick to see where we’re at. I can’t wait to watch 141

The thing that impressed me about PSU's recent duals was their relentless physical execution as several of their wrestlers pushed the action in almost an out of control, haphazard way. That out of control nature could also be used against them, but it was impressive nonetheless. Ramos better be ready to go if he gets the nod because Long was throwing his opponents all around the mat. Long looked much better than I expected after his off the mat issues.

We'll just have to wait and see how the next 4 years play out. I think that Alton and Ruth will have very good careers but I think that they will have there fair share of competition. FWIW, I don't think that Ruth beats Lewnes when it counts and I don't think either is a top 4 guy this year.

What i'd really like to know is why is Long even wrestling?
He was suspended and then tossed and then he transfers to another Div. 1a and can wrestle immediately?! Horse*#$%

Doesn't seem right to you or me. But to Cael is makes perfect sense. Just like cutting and running from your alma mater and leaving your brother stuck with either following for a year or wrestling for someone else.

Yeah i agree that i'd go w/ Lewnes in a rematch. But Lewnes went in to nationals the last two years w/ a record of 71-0 and I think they said during his match w/ Jay that he hadn't gotten taken down until Jay did. I'm very impressed by anybody who beats him 11-6 as well as Henrich easily. But you're right, we'll just have to wait and see. I hope i'm wrong, because all of those young guys there scare me.
