Please tell me why Mikeee G. is always the shooter at the end? Every team in the NCAA knows what is going to happen before it even happens!
Because se according to many on here Uthoff and Jok don't want the ball

How weird. All the realities that I saw (and posted about) in October ... a severe drop-off after the starting 5, weak leadership, zero front court back up, questionable / unreliable guard play, living / dying by the 3, topped off by extremely incompetent player / game management from platoon substitutions to lack of timeouts ... are finally being, well, realized.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, nope ... I called it several games ago.
Iowa has stunk when the going gets tough. It's a track record that's occurred for years. This is a systematic issue not a player issue. Fran had the team cuddle up in clock mode and team went into a shell at the 3:48 mark with Gessell dribbling at the top of key for 3 straight possession with the offensive players doing nothing and guess what Fran wanted it that way!!
I don't disagree with that. Fran is not a great coach late in games at all.
I'm more a senior class guy. They really crumble and have for years. Not always crazy about all of Fran's moves, especially late game clock stuff, but I think the seniors crumble.
Congrats Still. Seriously, congratulations. It was a great call.
And hey, if you would have been wrong, it's all good cause it would have meant a strong finish....
Great call though.
Because se according to many on here Uthoff and Jok don't want the ball. Look at the play Jared wasn't the guy the play was designed for.

It's not like Mata was making great in game decisions late. Their players made plays. They made 3 3's (and got credit for 2) and made a great block at the end. They pulled down every rebound, didn't turn the ball over, made their free throws, and played stifling defense on Uthoff standing in the corner.
Fran could call timeouts and draw up a play. That's about it. Does he call a timeout every time down the floor? The players miss every critical free throw, every open shot, give up every rebound, have ridiculous unforced turnovers, and have complete breakdowns on defense no matter what defense we're in.
If you can stomach it, go back and watch the last 5 possessions or so. Uthoff ran down, stood in the corner, and was halfway back down the court by the time the shot hit the rim. There was one time he did touch the ball and passed it right back to Gesell. I truly don't get it.

Congratulations, you should get a medal.
Ooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!It would be more hardware than Iowa basketball will collect this season, despite being in a much better position to do so.
IIRC, about 4 minutes left, we are up six...we go into slow down mode. You could see it in MG body language. We had them on the ropes, they were in foul trouble all over the court, we should have attacked. At that point we started running clock and that possesion we had a shot clock violation. I knew it was over right there. If you can stomach it, go back and watch the last 5 possessions or so.
