Iowa vs Nova for the title

If Fran is going to insist on playing Aaron White at the three, then this is the game where they need to take advantage of that

Maybe I misreading you, but it sounds like you are down on AW at the three. Is it just the game with Villanova or in general? My guess is that you don't think AW is the kind of defender or outside threat to play there.
 
Dang I really wanted to see Iowa match up with Kansas and thought Uthoff would have a really good game against them. But you play those on your schedule so we just need to beat nova now.

He is sub par in most skills you need a 3 to have. He is a poor defensive three and just gambles because of the help behind him. He is a poor ball handler. He can't shoot well enough for a three. The problem is our only true three is Uthoff. White is better in spot time at the 3 and major time at the 4.

After seeing Villanova react to beating Kansas last night will they be mentally ready to step up and take on a more rested Iowa team that is hungry to prove themselves?

We seen what happened to UTEP after they upset Tennessee.

Just a cautionary note: I'm pretty sure Kansas, too, thought they matched up well against a smaller team. So take it with a grain of salt.

For Iowa to win tonight:
- Must shoot the ball well.
- Dev must stay in the game.
- Mike and Sapp are going to have to take care of the ball; 'Nova is as opportunistic as Iowa, if not moreso.
- Uthoff is going to have to lose the disappearing act. He could be big tonight on offense, rebounding and guarding the perimeter.
- Gabe, similarly, could have a big game on rebounds, blocks, trips to the FT line.
- Zach will need to hit some of his signature 3s.

I did not include Woody staying out of foul trouble because I'm not even sure that is possible.

White can shoot well enough for a three? He hasn't made a shot outside the lane since the UNO game.

Tweeter...I agree Iowa shouldn't take Nova for granted because they match up better to them than Nova does with us. However, I would add that the Nova v KU game last night had the same awful officiating crew that did our game agains Xavier. So, put Nova in the role of Xavier and Kansas in the role of Iowa and it was the same type officated game. Iowa overcame it and Kansas didn't.
 
I think Nova is going to be a tough team to beat. I was pointing out some of their traits as a team. While the 3 pt shooting is a bad trait, I don't consider 4 guys in the lineup at 6'6 and taller to be a small team.
 
I'm happy to be in title game, but very disappointed to not be playing Kansas. I think they would have been a great litmus test for this team to show exactly where we are.

Villanova? Meh..................

This isn't the school of the blind and amputees. This is a well respected university with a rich basketball tradition. I will take a win and be very happy.

Problem is he dosent have a post up game or a good jump shot so the only advantage it gives iow a is rebounding.

White and Basabe just arent good on the floor together unless Mels at the 5.

I want to see Marble get allot of post touches on their small guards.

Fran could create some interesting spacing by playing Utoff and Mcabe together to bring their bigs out while Dev posts up.
