I agree with some on this site that Iowa is and should be on a
par with them now. I think the hawks can be on a par with
every team in their division and most all in big 10 except ohio st.

THIS is the dirty little secret that isn't talked about when talking about the "tradition" and "amazing walk on program" at nebraska. If you have 100+ kids walking on, the odds are a few of them are going to be diamonds....it helped....A LOT.
I live in Omaha so I have a pretty big bias against the huskers, but the unlimited walk on advantage in a state where EVERY SINGLE KID with any ability was giving it a go.....
I give props to their history and success...but it's just that....history. They haven't been more than a "pretty good team" since 2000.... and they are more similar to Iowa over the last 12 years or so than any husker fan wants to admit.
