Iowa vs MSU 2nd rd

Id think MSU would rather play almost anyone other than Iowa. They have had a very tough time with the Hawks and somthings got to give.

I think Iowas worst game this year was at home vs MSU. MSU was crippled and Iowa handed them the game.

Im calling it right now that Iowa defeats MSU in the BoneG tourny.

I just cant see the Hawks continue downward and I just cant see them give another game to sparty. If you sit and think about it over the last couple of years Iowa has given sparty games(last year in the BoneG tourny was helped by the refs).

So when Iowa beats Sparty on Fri Ill bump this thread to show you all that I knew it.

I thnk Iowa beats MSU, then loses on Saturday. Gets a #7 seed in The Dance as a result.

I think it depends on how physical we come out against MSU. Even though we lost last year, the defense we played in the first half of that game was unbelievable. The first 10 mins especially was by far the best defense I can remember in the Fran era, everyone was just flying around out there. We need to play like that again, and be just as physical as MSU is going to be. I would love to see a hard foul on Harris or Appling the first time they drive to the hoop. Let them know right away this is what kind of game it's going to be, because we're not going to beat MSU by trying to out-finesse them.

OK4P-These aren't the Alford era Hawks here, Fran owns NW, five straight double digit wins against those scrubs.

That was the problem the refs changed the game with 5 mins left. Iowa kids didnt know how to play after that. Refs can really screw over young players when they change what is a foul throughout the game.

I think Iowa is having a good amount of time to sit in their crap. Games on neutral floor will be good for them. I think both tournys will go similar and if they want to win a game or two in the dance then they need to do that this weekend.

As you stated,we will have to play the refs also. That's why I hate this match up. But if we played OSU or Wiscy it would be the same thing. They all get away with playing physical.. I would like or once to see Iowa come out and punch MSU in the face. Foul those SOB's really hard every time they go to the rim.

Maybe, just maybe, the refs will start to moderate their tolerance for physical play this weekend in Indy.

Adams, the head of NCAA officials, will be watching closely to determine which refs get NCAA tourney assignments.
After last season's debacle in the MSU- Iowa BTT game, Valentine was very scarce in the tourney. He has also done very few Big Ten games games this year.....I think Teddy got blacklisted.....refs took note...Big Ten games and NCAA games pay top dollar.

Yeah, I know, I'm just worried because these ain't the Carmody Cats, either. Thankfully Jershon is done because with the way we've been playing, we could have lost to them with Jershon. Now, really the only way I see us even possibly losing is if Sobo just completely goes berserk from downtown. I think Marble will handle Crawford and Olah will defend himself adequately with a bunch of missed layups and stuff just liek the last time we played the 'Cats.
