Don't Miss No. 5 Minnesota vs. No. 1 Iowa - Gophersports.com—Official Web Site of University of Minnesota Athletics

border brawl

my prediction

McD dec. Sanders 8-4 (tough match for McD but he will be fired up to shhhhhh the crowd)

Dennis dec. Ness 6-5 (back to back big wins for the hawks as Ness loses his run for the Hodge, dennis will be focuses on this match as it will set the stage for the big ten's!)

Thorn dec. Marion 7-6 (after two big wins for the hawks marion gets nervous and can't handle this win)

Metcalf fall Mason 3:45 (on a roll and might as well keep his fall percentage up)

Schlatter dec. Kerr 10-3 (Schlatter has the upper hand here makes me sick he is at this weight now...no comment)

M* dec. Yohn 2-1 2xSV (weird M* wins a close one in a boring match with no takedowns)

Borschel dec. Glasser 9-3 (Borschel wrestles great here but the travel up to minnesota affects him here and doesn't pull off the major..fun to complain about NOT getting a major)

Keddy dec. Young 12-5 (Keddy is my toss up one im not 100% sold on but its getting down to the wire and think he wrestles great against young)

Yohn dec. Lofthouse 4-1 (Lofthouse is getting great mat time and this is just another one of those matches for him where his experience just isn't enough)

Erecksen dec. Berhow 8-4 (see a lopsided match as danimal controls the whole match finishing out a great night for the hawks)

Hawkeyes 23-9

125 McDonough dec. Sanders 3-0

133 Ness dec. Dennis 3-3

141 Thorn dec Marion 3-6

149 Metcalf TF(with back points). Mason 8-6

157 Schlatter maj. Janssen/Kerr 8-10

165 M* dec. C. Yohn 11-10

174 Borschel Maj dec. Glasser 15-10

184 Keddy dec. Young 18-10

197 Lofthouse dec Yohn 21-10

Hwt. Erekson dec Berhow 24-10

I see more of the toss up matches(133, 141, 197) going to Minnesota because of the "home field" advantage. Im very interested to see which Marion and Keddy come out to wrestle. Metcalf will definitely put Mason on his back. Jansen beat him 11-5 last time, Metcalf will take it to him knowing that bonus points will be much appreciated.

ness has just had a problem with dennis in the past and mcd is gonna set the stage!

smoke out them gophers

Here's my prediction,

125: McDonough dec could be more 3-0 Hawks
133: Dennis dec. could go other way 6-0 Hawks
141: Marion wins and Reiter loses it!!!! 9-0 Hawks
149: Metcalf keeps us rolling and gets the FALL 15-0 Hawks
157: Schlatter bores us to death and stops the bleeding 15-3 Hawks
165: Star rolls here but don't know about a major 18-3 Hawks
174: Jaybo with a dec. 21-3 Hawks
184: Keddy with a dec. 24-3 Hawks
197: Yohn wins a close one over Lofthouse 24-6 Hawks
Hwt: Danimal blows Berhow out of the water with a major 28-6 Hawks!!!

McD dec. Sanders 8-3( Sanders 100% or not McD is the better wrestler)

Ness dec. Dennis 6-5(Riding time point wins it for Ness, Dennis gets him at Big 10s)

Thorn dec. Marion 11-8(Best match of the night)

Metcalf fall Mason(Too strong, too good, gets ugly)

Schlatter dec. Kerr 9-3(Kerr is game, but Schlatter controls it)

Moringstar dec. Yohn 4-1(Yohn comes out ready to fight but, Ryan scores and escape in the 3rd, adds a TD and rides him out for the win)

Borschel dec. Glasser 9-2(Jay thoroughly dominates without quite securing the major)

Keddy mdec. Young 16-7(Phil really opens it up in the 3rd)

Yohn dec. Lofthouse 2-1TB1(Luke will struggle to finish shots on Yohn throughout and gets ridden out in the tie-breaker)

Erecksen dec. Berhow 8-3(3 takedowns, an escape, and a riding time point for Dan, 3 free escapes for Berhow)

22-12 Hawkeyes.

Can't wait to get up there. It's a great environment for a dual, plus it's always fun watching the rowdy Gopher fans leaving with their tails tucked.......

Any word on how Sanders' ankle is doing? Still messed up or will he be good for this weekend?
