Iowa vs Marist prediction thread

The Red Foxes are a pretty good defensive team, but they have not played many teams as good as Iowa. I think Taylor will have a great game, and Dixon will be able to get open for some long range jumpers. My prediction:

Iowa 67
Marist 52
 
Should be an easy win for the Hawks.

I think they have a great chance to make a decent run in the tourney. This is a gritty team that just doesn't give up easily.
 
IMO I believe it's going to come down to how well Beverly D. plays. If she's moving well under he basket it will be an easy win for the HAWKS.
 
women's team has something the men's team doesn't. Well, lots of things actually, but the biggest is leadership.

Logic will pwn in this game. Another triple double for her. Hawks roll 78-52

Marist fan checking in. Listen, you guys surely deserve to be favored, especially given that you are playing on your home court. And I for one won't be surprised if you win. But I'll be really surprised if you win by 26 points, if you have an "easy" game, etc. Marist lost by 3 at Ohio State playing without two of their top 6 players, they beat Oklahoma, Bowling Green and do have history winning first round games as a 10 - 13 seed.

Good luck tonight - it looks like your team is the kind of team I'll root for if you get by Marist. Hope you will do the same.

Thanks for the info FoxFan. All season I have had the pleasure to watch Iowa play against teams that I thought were fun teams to watch... teams that I could easily be a fan of if they were my hometown team. Marist sounds like a team in that tradition. I think Iowa wins if a couple of our players step up. I dunno which two players of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor (our only senior) continues her great play to end her career at Iowa. And all of the other starters should be ready. Good luck to all players on both teams.

I'll be the first to admit, I don't know a damned thing about Marist. So my prediction is based solely on homerism.
 
This has been an underdog day. HAWKS gotta come out on fire! This Mairst team is going to be dangerous. GO HAWKS!
