GO HAWKS!!!

So far Iowa is leading the Big Ten in batting average as a team (.298) and they are 4th in team ERA. If Iowa keeps pitching this well along with their good defense (they are tied for the lead in fielding %) they could be the sleeper team in the Big Ten.

I have to admit I'm not big on batting average but the fact that it's supported with 105 runs in just 14 games is impressive.

ERA is also not the best way to judge pitchers or teams either but when you factor in they've only allowed 57 runs (3rd fewest in the Big Ten) and they've given up the 2nd lowest batting average the pitching looks outstanding.

Last but not least defense, solid pitching and defense can a lot of games. So far the defense has been solid, the Hawks are tied in fielding percentage and fewest errors committed.
