Iowa vs ISU sweet 16...

Iowa has a good shot of beating Gonzaga. How do you like our shot if ISU makes it past their hurdles?

Gonzaga is really good offensively, marginal defensively.......Iowa could get ran off the court if not careful......Zaga is lot like ISU they rather out score you than lock you down defensively.
 
I just won't be able to deal with a loss to ISU in the tourney. Too many friends that would not let me forget about it until, well probably, the football game in September. Given the recent history I'm not sure that would give me solace either.

That would be ultimate bragging rights if we won though. Iowa State has all the bragging rights, especially in basketball in recent years, beating them in the sweet 16 would give us smack talk rights for years.

Yeah, I'm glad we don't have to play them until the finals. I was afraid we'd meet them in the Final Four game, but like our chances a lot better in the finals.

We beat them in the tourney in 2003, so all it will do is even the score.















OK, so it was the NIT, but it WAS in Ames.
 
Good luck guys -> no offense but i personally don't want to meet you in the Sweet 16 ;) Wish we were on separate sides of the bracket so i could cheer you the hawkeyes all the way though, but it may not be possible.

I'd love to meet you in the Sweet 16, but only because that means we'd be in the Sweet 16.

I wish you weren't nice and logical. Much harder for me to want blood when I get that from ISU fans. I would love to beat ISU, again just not sure what the odds would be. If ISU makes all their shots again it would not be good, but I think Iowa could put up points on them as ISU relies on their offense not their defense.
 
No one's looking past anyone. This is tournament time and looking at potential, future match ups is fun.
 
Iowa could get an early re-match against North Dakota State after they beat Davidson. That would be interesting. I also see UAB in the first round of the bracket. I sure hope UAB wins too! That would be great!
