Iowa vs Ball St. Preview

Iowa has a favorable match up in this one. Ball St. is not very good in the interior. Chase Coley and Megan Gustafson will score often and control the boards. I also like Ally Disterhoft to cause problems for BSU's leading scorer Nathalie Fontaine. She will have a speed advantage. BSU also does not have large guards. Tania Davis and Whitney Jennings will be able to pester Jill Morrison and turn her over often.

Next round will be Saint Louis or Little Rock. STL is the favorite in that one.

We need to play some good competition so we win the first and bare down and play good ball the second game and you never know! We've been playing pretty good against the tougher teams. Good experience for this young team.

My prediction:

Iowa 78
BSU 65

Just curious if you have seen Ball State? They start a 6'5" post player and have 6'2" and a 6'1" starters. From the few box scores I could find their post player seems OK, but their bench is thin. They only really play 7 players and they seem to shoot poorly from 3 point range. Seems like a team we can beat if we don't have a turnover party.

Yes, but Iowa has the twin post advantage, and they are not dominant inside players dispite height. The 6'2" player is listed as a guard and starts at the 3.
