Iowa vs Alabama in the Citrus

I think several programs would have a twinkle in their eye to draw Alabama this year. Take your pick of 7-5 teams you’d count as their best win : Texas A&M, Tennessee or Southern Miss. I could see a number of players skipping their bowl game including Tua. Sabin is going to really be pointing fingers at his staff.

I can definitely see Alabama going to the Citrus. If that happened, I think Delaney would rather see Michigan or Penn St. play them.

they would smoke Michigan, but we'd have a legit chance to beat them. matchup is poor for the wolves

Um, no. Sounds fun, but then the actual game would start...

Iowa hasn't been able to score much against a team with a pulse this year.

I don't think Alabama's very good...Saban's main focus now is selling insurance. A couple of other thoughts:

1) I don't think we want any part of Florida or Alabama. If their DLs are healthy...they rush the passer from the inside with blitzes. The number one objective of every good defense we played was to disrupt and make Nate Stanley uncomfortable. He's a different QB under extreme pressure.

2) I'd like a Pac 12 match up...in the Holiday. Maybe we could decide to play the Big10 team finally against the PAC 12 and be the more physical team.
Be careful what you wish for. We have been smacked pretty good by PAC 12 teams in bowls for decades.

Washington (Rose 2x)
UCLA (Rose)
Cal (Alamo)
Arizona State (Sun)
USC (Orange)
Stanford (Rose)

Am I mistaken or was our last neutral site or road win against a Pac 10 team the Sun Bowl in '95 against Washington? It's only been 24 years and we have put up some doozies since that one.

IF that happened and we won, I would consider that a bigger win the Orange Bowl vs Georgia Tech. Even a 2 loss Bama is worth the price of gold. I may even would consider it Ferentz's best ever bowl win. The LSU win being very, very, very close.
Cupcake Por Favor. Cap and O/c. Gameplan vs Saban Ugh!

Iowa could win it if all their 3rd year NFL prospects sat out and they strolled in with their typical shit attitude when they don't get a "proper" bowl. That's how Utah beat them. However the thought of any of our DBs other than Geno Stone trying to cover their WRs really terrifies me.

I wouldn’t like Iowa’s chances, however I think they would stay with them. They have a lot of injuries and will have a couple guys sit out because “it’s just the citrus bowl vs Iowa” plus how on earth would saban motivate that team to play iowa outside the New Years 6

We would get murdered by 100% all-out Bama, but that is rarely the team that shows up for second tier bowl games.

Alabama would be a 14-17 point favorite in a bowl but only because their 5* star roster would be checked out. You’ll see from time to time they will struggle with a bad team before pulling away late.
