Iowa vs Alabama in the Citrus

Ooops. Forgot about Dabo.

Everyone around here says Dabo ain't leaving because he wants to be in the history books alongside the long tenured greats and that he is too smart to go play an SEC schedule. I guess he tells recruits that given the softness of the ACC, they are guaranteed to make the playoffs virtually every year. Helluva lot easier to do that at Clemson than at Bama. It will come down to whether he thinks no one will respect his Clemson run because of how soft the conference is. He's from Bama and he played there. I've gotta think they'll offer him some ungodly contract to go when Nick gets pushed out the door.

If they push Saban tot he door, what coach in their right mind would go there?

It would be hilarious if they push Nick out and Dabo/Kirby turn it down. Leaving them on like their 5th or 6th choice.

Ya no thanks. The teams that beat Bama have to be able to score and typically have more of a mobile QB. Have any of you watched Alabama’s WRs?

Wherever bowl we end up in I hope we get a favorable matchup and come out with a win.

Kirby is a Georgia boy through and through. He ain't on the list. Dabo is the savior, but I think it's a coin toss as to whether he would actually leave Clemson. I could easily see him there another 15-20 years barring him getting the team put on probation or having a scandal. He just turned 50. He could easily be 5th on the all time win list in 20 years.

Just a quick hope would be Iowa vs Florida in the Citrus. A chance to kick SEC teams a$$ and be in Florida on New Years Day? Count me in!

I don't think Alabama's very good...Saban's main focus now is selling insurance. A couple of other thoughts:

1) I don't think we want any part of Florida or Alabama. If their DLs are healthy...they rush the passer from the inside with blitzes. The number one objective of every good defense we played was to disrupt and make Nate Stanley uncomfortable. He's a different QB under extreme pressure.

2) I'd like a Pac 12 match up...in the Holiday. Maybe we could decide to play the Big10 team finally against the PAC 12 and be the more physical team.

Last second field goal to beat Nebraska and now you want Bama? Sounds like husker fans. We would get killed by Bama, it would be ugly.

We would get murdered by 100% all-out Bama, but that is rarely the team that shows up for second tier bowl games.

Iowa/USC or Iowa/Utah would be a good match up. Oregon wouldn't. They would spread Iowa's D out, try to get those linebackers out in space. If Herbert is on.....look out.

It's not gonna happen, a NY6 bowl is going to be all over Bama.

So 4 teams to the CFPs and 8 other teams to fill out the NYs 6 bowl games, is that correct???

No way Bama drops out of the NY6 top 12, if that is the case. I think pollsters and other criteria will 'take into account' Tua's injury and the fact that 2 pick 6's and an inadvertant extra second in the first half gave Auburn the win.

And Iowa wont be in any of those games. Hard to see people thinking Bama is not top 12, hate to say it.

I disagree, I think Iowa could hang with Alabama and maybe even pull off the upset.
plus half their starters may not even play in that game. those guys that are draft eligible. who knows.
We have a decent history as a bowl underdog vs SEC teams dating back to Tennessee in the 1982 Peach Bowl.

A better history, anyway, of playing PAC 12 teams which for the most part have blown our doors off in bowl games.
and it would be even better if not for the worst officiated game in the history of mankind.
