Iowa v MSU predictions

What's your head/heart say about this one? Can the Hawks take advantage of the situation?

Heart says Iowa 76 - MSU 72

Head says MSU 65 - Iowa 60

Really, really need White and Marble to show up for the first half. Would also really help if Josh can get a shot in early in the game to get him going. The thing Iowa needs most of all is to get some home calls and for it to stay a basketball game instead of turning into a football game.

This one is easier then folks think. Number one we are better then MSU at this time, no discussion. Yes they will come in and defend, yes Izzo will whine and cry like it is the final four. However we have too much firepower for them right now. They are not deep, they cannot run like they want to, we will lull them into running with us...that will be disaster for this team. This Iowa team knows what rides on this game...with Bilas in the house and the nation watching this is a recognition game. I look for Iowa to be clicking on all cylinders and Carver will be rocking unlike it has rocked in the last 10 years.

Iowa 83 MSU 66 and this game is not close
 
I see this being much like Notre Dame ... tho Dawson will still be out, thought I heard Payne will be back on Tuesday?? I sort of see him having his way inside like that big leprachaun did for the Domers. That means it comes down to Dev and Whitey getting theirs and the usual 30+ from the bench to simply wear them out and out score them.

This happens cuz it's in Carver; Hawks 88 - Izzos 79.

If Iowa does not win a home game against the crippled Sparties, then they do not deserve to be in the hunt for the title.

In the hunt? No, if Iowa doesn't win this, barring an extremely off shooting night for Iowa or MSU shooting like 70%, Iowa shouldn't even be in the NIT. MSU is the walking wounded and Fran has got to win this game. 40 full minutes. No sleep walking through a half.
 
If we win this game, I'll be happy, but still feel a little dirty. I'd rather beat a team when they are 100% to shut up the excuses on the other side.

I don't think it will be as easy as some...but we should triumph in the end.

Most don't acknowledge it but the Hawks are improving. I look for the hawks to take off 80-66 and go on a run from here on out.

I wouldnt worry about feeling dirty, Iowa still has to travel to the Breslin Center in early March. Also, MSU stole one from the Hawks last year at Carver when Iowa was without Marble.

Closer than the score indicates. Much like the OSU game, Iowa gets a double digit win by nailing free throws down the stretch.

This. Injuries are a part of the game. It shouldn't matter whether it makes us feel "dirty" or not, the fact is that the game still has to be played and there still has to be a winner. IMO whether a team is injury plagued or not its no different then winning a game because the other team was cold or simply didn't show up to play. At the end of the day its still a win.
