I think iowa ends up pulling away at the end but a close game for most of it.

Hawks come out flat, but so does Minny. Low scoring half but hawks rebound well and play good defense. Hawks go on a run in 2nd half to get up 9 with 5 minutes left but Hollins gets hot and Hawks can't put a team away. McCabe and Basabe come up with big baskets late in game and Minny misses last second shot. Hawks prevail 67-64. Marble and White both struggle

There's a reason we all thought we had a chance on the road up there. I think it's ok to expect us to win tomorrow and not feel like you're a homer. They beat Wisky at home in OT. A game they had to win. Lets be honest and know that this is a game shading more towards a game we should win, rather than a game we can win.

If it's the other case, lets take comfort in the NIT again.

This is Mel and AW's game to win. The extra edge is that RDM is "back".

As long as Fran let's these guys win the game, Iowa will win the game. If Fern thinks Oglesby and Clemmons with 21 minutes while Mel and Woody play 15 (from box score in Minny) is the winning combo, it's gonna be the final nail in the NCAA coffin.

I think Fran is on his game today with the lineups and realizes the urgency of getting this one, not just to keep the dance card alive but for the sake of a packed Carver.

I think if Olgelsby can keep up his torrid shooting, and keep minutes away from May, Marble, and Gessell, we should be in good shape. NOT. At some point Fran has to say, it's just not happening with the lights on with Josh. I'd rather see May get those minutes and keep Marble and Gessell on the floor longer. I applaud Fran's commitment to his players, and his need for a three point threat...but when you go 1-6 in a big road game against guards that are athletic...you are hurting the team.

Honestly, I hope JO gets it going...but if he started 0-3...he would be done for me the rest of the day.
