Iowa v Minny Predictions

So, who's your pick?

Since we last played them, they have lost to MSU by 11, lost to Illinois by 4, and beat Wisky in OT.

I think, and hope, Iowa can get this one.

Hawks 65 - Goofers 60

Basabe with a big game on both ends.

I think they will both try and give it away. Depends on which one is better at giving it away. A breakout game here would be huge.

MN better on the wings and the big guy. Foul trouble hurts MN more than Iowa. Will Iowa penetrate and build fouls? Home court advantage. No edge to coaching at this point to count on. Still think Marble is really hurting.

Score in the first 11 minutes will the 11-10. Whoever gets on track first a huge advantage. MN naturally shoots better. Would like to see Wood be sent to really go after them, even risking fouling out to diminish the strength inside. A lot to ask.

No way to really predict this one. If you went by ranking and big wins...MN.

When you compare the scores, pretty similar results except losing to 1 bottom feeder. Their losses for the most part aren't that bad. Some nice wins.

Big Game. Toss up.

As ST said, ft's may make a diff. As down as I am on ft's, ft's are a strong suit of this team, more than other better teams in the good years.

I think it will be a back and forth game for 30 minutes, but Iowa will pull away at the end.

Iowa 72, Minnesota 63

I hope I am wrong but I think the emotions of it being a must win game gets to our freshmen and we give it up at the end.

Goofers 70 Hawks 68 (another close one at the end)

Having followed Iowa basketball for about 20 years, I know how this is supposed to work. We get a big win vs Minnesota, by 15 points and then we come out and lost to Nebraska in the next one.

I believe Iowa is 14-2 this season when they score 70 or more. That is the key. They need to out rebound on both ends, shoot their season avg FG (2's & 3's) and make their FT's. I had Minny and Iowa a home-n-home split at the start of the season. Iowa wins 72-60. Iowa has won 12 of last 14 in CHA and Minny is 1-4 on the road in the BIG. I'm calling Oblesby with 4 3's!

I am honestly more worried about the game at Neb than the Minn game
