Called down to see how much the football helmets were selling for and they said $225.I feel this is way to much since they were selling them before spring game for $100.Any one else think this is to much for a used helmet.

Too much for "a" used helmet? From an objective standpoint - umm...YES!

But you have to look at this subjectively and assess what it is worth in the market. Bring up ebay and search "game worn helmet" and see what I mean. Depending on the school and who wore the helmet & where/when, $225 could actually be seen as quite under valued.

I'd spend up to $500 and then just wear it EVERYWHERE I go.

I do have a question about the Outlet Store since it has been brought up. If you have ever been to a spring game at Iowa the Hawk Shop always has a great garage type sale at the stadium. With this new Outlet Store will that sale still happen or has this store taken the place of that event. It was always awsome because you could by last years stuff for like 75% off.

Yeah, if they sell it then they haven't priced it too high.

I wouldn't pay that, but others probably will. It would cost a lot just to get an authentic looking replica, and it would be much cooler to have one that was actually worn in a game.

I was out at UI Surplus yesterday and there were several helmets for sale, so I'm not sure they're flying off the shelves.

Personally, I'm not into this type of thing, but I don't think the price is out of line for an authentic, used helmet. Expecting to get one for $100 seems a little ridiculous to me.
