Lets try to keep things in perspective here. Even though my name says that I'm in Texas, by no means am I a Longhorn fan in disguise. That being said, UCLA just beat two ranked teams in a row.... as underdogs. Now, lets peer closer into their losses......
First game of the year they lost on the road against Kansas State, anytime you have to start the year on the road it's tough. Kansas State is not the prettiest car on the lot- but they keep games close and most often win them when snyder has been the coach. They also were a two point conversion away from tying the ball game with under a minute to go. Because they did not convert, kansas state had the liberty to play conservative with a two point lead.
Follow that disheartening loss with another to Stanford, a team that will win the Pac 10, and your already 0-2. Most teams toss their hand in at this point, but they go on to beat two straight ranked opponents as underdogs and turned their season around. Since this is not often done it often describes the grit of a team, and great coaching. Look at VaTech here, good coaching and strong QB, I feel confident enough in saying that they will go on to win the ACC, remember they were an offensive drive vs Boise & a non-fumble vs James Madison from being undefeated. This could have been our debacle versus many a foe last year, their margin of defeat this year was 3 versus boise and 5 to james madison. Pick your games from iowa's schedule to compare to those margins of defeat and what could have been?
While I bleed black and gold, at least i have a little perspective when hearing "Ucla is terrible"
Texas Is a Top 25 team, but we all would be crying outrage too if we had been dropped from the rankings so abruptly after being ranked in the top ten for 36 straight polls.
