Iowa State Condensed Video Here

Most Thursdays I like to release a "Throwback Thursday" video that I edit. My one rule is the game has to have happened at least 10 years ago, but this last weekend was too good. Here you go. Feel free to peruse the 35 or so other games I've got up on youtube under my gohawkeyes529 account.

Beautiful stuff.

I was too lit during the game to fully appreciate the greatness of CJ's arm. He is special.

Sava tha flava, because a noodle-wristed Rudock will likely be the rule, not the exception, after 2016.

Ha ha, "too lit during the game" but yet a predictor of what will come. Ha ha.

Well done. By the way, the 'Kinnick Tastes great, less filling' video you published as well brings back memories.

I watched the FS1 condensed version last night. I did not see that placeholder going ape shite on ISU's two touchdowns. Holy crap what a ******.

I completely disagree with the assessment moving forward. Weigers, Boyle and Cook all have pretty good arms. I think the future at QB looks pretty strong.

Why do you say this?

Mostly to underscore how elite CJ's arm is. Quarterbacking seems second nature to him whereas guys like Jake and JVB and even Rick looked like QBs who had to compensate for some weaknesses.

CJ has a rare skillset, and one that won't come along too often. He's got all the tools.

CJ is still a bit inconsistent, which is one reason I so wanted him to play through that last season. But CJ clearly, to me, has "it." The throw to Vandeburg was 50 yards in the air, on a rope and right in his hands and in stride. And, it was such an effortless throw by CJ. The back shoulder throw to T. Smith you will see on Sundays, but not many Saturday's. We need to throw first and mostly. We do that, with this kid, when we run, we'll break big runs for scores.

just watched - thanks again - i never saw that fake fg live - was taking an early half time break to the kitchen - that thing almost worked.

I disagree on the "throw first and mostly" part. A big reason for CJs success has been the running game averaging nearly 250 yds/game which has helped to open the pass game. We keep doing that and CJ will continue to be successful.

I really don't think ISU would have been expecting it if they stopped the clock at say 20 seconds. Then we would have had a closer shot at a fg or possibly another play before the real fg attempt.

that being said, running it to 1 second was being 100% the element of surprise. why leave 20 seconds on the clock to kick a fg if you don't have to - that is pretty suspicious.

Kudos. If you put up a video of Illinois State v IA I'll lend you my Bahamas beach home for a week.
