Iowa Sports Info Dept. Reaches National Media

Some of ESPN's biggest College Football columnists are already tweeting about the info they were sent:

Heres a few that I've seen in the last few hours...add more if you have them:

Bruce Feldman of ESPN: "Best point Iowa can make: Hawkeyes (along w/ Oregon) have 3 wins vs. current top 25 teams. Boise & Cincy have 1 (same as UF & Bama). TCU, 0." about 5 hours ago

Ivan Maisel of ESPN: "Regardless of how thin Iowa's skin is for defending itself, the stats released on strength of schedule are impressive." about 5 hours ago

Pat Forde of ESPN: "Campaign season is upon us. Iowa has disseminated a fact sheet defending its 9-0 record against "national pundits" who aren't buying in." about 6 hours ago

This just proves these media folks don't do the research before voting, assuming they vote in the AP. At least they are smart enough to acknowledge the facts.

I'm glad this finally came out. I love Kirk to death but he doesn't do much to defend the team. It's about time the university set the record straight.

i would agree that kirk may not need to "down play" his team to the extent he does. yet, he does not need to whine and cry like urban and mack. and yes i believe the SID will do their part, but i have to believe that being 9-0 with such a high ranking is rather new territory for both parties at this point into the season and thus a learning opportunity for next year:)

I love that Kirk is keeping his mouth shut. There is no reason to hype this team until (fingers crossed) we get to 12-0. I for one am happy to be at #4 in the BCS and have watched enough college football over the years to know that anything can happen. Lets just take care of our business and be happy the Hawks are being talked about daily, whether positive or negative.

Yes, I think Kirk needs to keep doing what hes doing until the season is over. And if, a big if, we are 12-0 he can start campaigning.

At first I thought it would be too late by then to campaign for a National Championship, but remembered there's still 3 weeks of season left for some teams so he should have plenty of time to make a good case.
