Iowa spends 3rd most in Nation on Football

If you get to the bottom both ISU and IOWA were rated most financially irresponsible in their respective conferences. I agree a deeper investigation of the numbers is in order but it doesn't look good for either university.

The term "most financially irresponsible" implies the school doesn't spend its income wisely and does not invest smartly'

The author of the article could have used a better, more accurate term to describe the financial situation of these "financially irresponsible" schools. The term is sloppy, in my opinion.

Once Iowa is done paying the debt on the pressbox renovations I imagine that money spent will be redirected towards the new football practice facility.

BFD.... It's working. Only way I'd be ****** if the Athletic department spent all that money for 5-7 records. What would you rather have 12 million in the black(and gold), good morale from finishing #7 in the polls, a strong team (probably) returning and 0 coaching turnover or be turning a nice profit like Notre Dame for crap.
Anyone wondering what a good basketball program can do, look at the ratio of Football income to AD income at Duke and Kansas; Then look at what teams with not very good progrms like Nebraska and Penn State do.
I wonder which includes the Big 10 network deals, football or AD revenue.
