Iowa/SCUM Game Thread

I'm just going to say this. Is this the best Iowa defense in the history of the program?

I really want this to be a blowout. Want to keep scoring. I have a friend that is a Michigan fan (he grew up in Michigan) and after Iowa lost to Arizona he called Iowa overrated on a message board. I told him that was funny coming from a Michigan fan.

How sweet is this result so far combined with Big Red getting SHELLACKED at home by TX in the last B12 game between them? Can you imagine how much that stings to NE and Osborne?

You rewatch the play, on a floated ball he has to get underneath the ball and get his hands on it, he never touched it..

But your argument was that it wasn't underthrown and that DJK quit running. It was under thrown and so he had to wait for it and by that time he had two guys on him.

My argument was that he quit running so that he could try to make an over the shoulder catch when he should have got under the ball and jumped for it. Look for the difference between him and McNutt, think of McNutt turning and facing the ball on fades in the endzone, that's what DJK needed to do on that play. Did Stanzi float the ball? Yeah, but DJK def had a chance to make a play on it and he didn't. He has the size where he should jump for balls like that.

I would say the 2002 team and either 81/85... take your pick.

Fair enough, I didn't see the 81/85 teams play (too young). The 2002 defense was really good but I kind of think the offense made it look even better (we were awesome that year on offense.) We didn't need that defense to carry the team like we do this year (sort of). That being said I remember when Bob Sanders intimidated the crap out of Charlie Rodgers and shut him down (didn't have a catch if I remember right, which broke a huge streak.).
