Iowa recruiting Ohio

In the first five years Ferentz was here there was exactly one player from Ohio in this program - David Vickers - and he transferred after one year. Ohio now dominates for out of state players.

What led to that drastic of a recruiting change? It wasn't like Kirk wasn't having any success his first five years at Iowa and needed to change things up.

I think with our success and the fact that KOK has some connections there, plus the wealth of talent in Ohio, it just made sense. OSU dominates Ohio recruiting, but even they can't take everyone. Cincinnati has come on the past few years in part due to OSU castoffs, there is no reason we shouldn't poach a few ourselves.
