Iowa receiving votes

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but then again I didn't look real hard. Iowa received 14 votes this week in the coaches poll. Good for "33rd" place.

After we beat Minnesota we'll probably grab a few more votes. If we can somehow beat Michigan we'll be ranked.

We all know Minny plays Iowa as if they would all be killed if they lose but seriously lose out.... We will handle Minny like we handled Indy, it might be ugly but a good ol' gopher stompin' is in order. But I make no promises about the 3 games after Minny...

I love the Hawks, but really? Receiving votes, really? The offense is good, but the defense is awful. We make every opposing QB, even 2nd stringers look like Joe Montana, we are toward the bottom of the conference in several defensive categories, and the Big 10 is down a little this year. We have yet to win on the road, and for whatever reason, the coaching staff seems to be extra conservative on the road. Hopefully that will all change Saturday. On the bright side, we've done what we've had to do the past 2 weeks, but I'm not ready to say that we should be anywhere near ranked yet. Hopefully this young team will continue to get better as the season goes on. We will see in a couple of weeks.
