Iowa ranked 4th in AP, 5th in coaches

Being in the top 5 is really all that matters unless you are #1. Good pub for the school, other than that, I don't really care. Just keep winning and get a #1 seed.

I would have thought the changes would be higher being ranked higher in the coaches poll as opposed to the AP. Like above, I really don't give a crap now they are consistently in the top 5. If they keep winning, it will take care of itself.

I shouldn't say anything to jinx but Iowa only one of a couple teams that hasn't **** the bed at this point losing a game they shouldn't have lost. With Iowa's depth and the ability to plug players in an play without having to change the style keeps me confident as they have players to pick up a cold player. This team has all the personnel ingredients to be successful and sustain.

Iowa was 1 measly point behind Oklahoma for the #3 ranking in the AP.

What really grinds my gears is had Iowa won @Maryland they'd be the sure fire #1 ranked team in the country right now....in both polls. Its a crazy thing to consider

Top 5 is darn good considering what the projections were before the season started, kind of like the football team.Keep improving as a team and bring the underclass men along then everyone better look out in March.

Big difference between football and basketball as the basketball team has beaten top ranked opponents on their own campus. Football team? NOT.

I will agree though that it's a great experience none the less to be an under class-men on the football team and get to experience going 12-0 in the Big Ten just as playing and practicing on a top five basketball team will reap benefits down the road for the under class-men

I am not disparaging the football team and even believe a repeat performance may be coming next season. Just still a little disappointed..... sigh. :(

Same old crap. Nothing really matters until March and the NCAA tournament in basketball. Lets just get rid of conferences and play a nation wide competition for entry into the final 64, or whatever the hell it is these days. Now that we have reduced football to only worrying about 4 teams at the end of the year, we might as well follow suit in BB. Tommy Lee Jones: "this is no country for old men."

Imagine the outrage if Iowa loses to Indiana and Michigan State passes Iowa in the polls after beating Purdue and Indiana.

Higher ranked the better for publicity sake. With that said Im not sure the team much cares. I think they are focused on winning the conference and the rankings will take care of itself.
