Iowa post-game shenanigans were unforgettable

would have loved to have been there...but I was in the hospital as my oldest, Grace, had been born two days earlier on the 14th on November. So my dad and I watched Iowa treat Minnesota 'like a part time job' together in the hospital waiting room, the first time in years we had been able to watch an Iowa football game together. It was a good moment and one I will never forget.

Hard to believe that Kill supposedly tried to use that as 'motivation' for this year's game. Didn't work out to well for them, obviously. I think it made them more scared than ready for revenge.

I was there as well, sitting in the upper level so I had a great view of all that was unfolding. The best part is the security had set off the alarm in the metrodome to try and get fans out of the dome, but it had no effect whatsoever. It was beautiful.

Ah yes, my son and I and a friend were at the game, sat in about the highest row up watching hawk fans buy beer like crazy at a college game.

After the game we walked down to the first row to watch all the action. The team and fans and coaches were going crazy on the field.

The Dome people kept saying there were high school playoff games that night so "please clear the field". I think the fans would have left the goal posts alone but the Dome people and cops kept getting after the fans. After the fans tore down the posts they paraded it around the field and carried it up the stands trying to get it out the door, what a site.

Finally the Dome people (sounds like futuristic clan of brutal people) started blaring very high pitched noise through the PA system like they were trying to drive a bunch of rats or insects out of the building, that was so weird and stupid and just made the fans rowdier for extra time.

I was there. The last ditch effort by the Metrodome to disperse the crowd with a high pitched noise was hilarious. Did that Minnesota team have Marion Barber III and Laurence Maroney that year?

Minny may have had them both but I think it was the 2003 or 2004 game which was a shootout where barber and maroney both got a lot of yards. Greenway made a big tackle for loss 1 play before their kicker barely hooked a 50+yd fg wide left. Great game.

I ended up drenched in Gatorade from barreling over a table on the sidelines carrying the posts around the field. There were so many Iowa fans at the game the the entire upper deck was black and gold and Minnesota got booed coming onto the field.

that alarm was disturbingly funny. oddest thing you'll ever hear - my wife was pregnant at the time and we joked that hopefully the 'sonic' nature of the sound wasn't going to hurt our unborn's hearing.

we were pretty low - unbelievable - you'd have thought the goof fans would have put up a fight. i guess they resembled their team. one old goof fan with a cane did get into it - a bunch of young iowa fans held up a banner in front of him and he took his cane and ripped it down. (get off my lawn old man).

yes - hard to believe how long ago that was.

I was there with a friend of mine. We sat i the stands, finished our Dome Dogs and overpriced beers, and just watched the mayhem. It was pretty funny.

My god could you imagine the turn out and passion if a show down ending in a win, in indy came about?
Holy smokes it would be a epic party. One that I think few hawk fans would miss.

A game against a team that you guys were favored, why storm the field?

I kid, I kid. Can't believe that was 11 years ago, bet it was a blast nonetheless.
