Iowa opens at +7. Hmm...Doesn't seem like a very big spread. Programs seem to be heading in different directions.
 
That seems like a small number. But Iowa is good at sitting on the ball and keeping the score down. [one of the few things they are good at] Paint dries slowly.
 
What, you mean nobody's confident the Hawkeye coaches used the extra time to get things revved up?

You didn't hear Davis' comments about all the things they're looking at?

I'm confident they could score at least 20 points, which might be enough.

If my remedial search skills are correct, despite wins coming off bye weeks the last 2 years, Ferentz is still trying to claw his way back to .500 in terms of W/L record when coming off a bye. If he and the staff dream up a gameplan that sucks less than Penn State's, he'll move to 7-7 for his tenure.

I've watched several Penn State games this year and I don't see a way to get a win here. They will blitz CJ to death and we won't be able toatch scores. We have only one win left on the schedule.
 
Actually comparing head to head I am reasonably optimistic of a good game. That is if one finds a game like Iowa Wisconsin to be good. Except Bashers are better.

Penn State got better when that creepy Ginger who roamed the sidlelines got canned....we will get better when Ferments is permanently gone....and I mean permanent....not kicked upstairs to help Barta...permanent in unable to no long poison the waters with 1930's philosophies.

It's a matter of perception. To cyfans 7-7 is dominating your opponent. To us it's a poor record. I'm hoping for the win. Then next year Kirk can improve on it.

3 or 4 and out aint sitn on the ball. Still with the right O-line up they may find success grinding...and some use of Watley in the passing game may result in a competitive game.
 
Have to stop mcsorley and barkley/halfbacks in the run game which the hawks seem to be better at doing now. Mcsorley is a 50% passer but they hit big plays it seems. stop the run and if king and mabin have great games psu wont score alot.

IIRC early in the year psu had a lot of Dee linemen and lbkrs out and they are playing better defense now. I think the weak unit is the hawk offense but if they can make some passing plays maybe by mixing things up the hawks can win.

This will be a good solid road win for Iowa. It's a bonus to further punish some pedophiles. By all means that program got off way to light. They should have gotten it worse than what SMU did. For me it's further motivation to want to beat them! My prediction, Iowa 24 Pedo St. 13.

Stupid pedophile jokes get old. It was a serious situation that destroyed victims lives. Yes they should have gotten worse. Why joke about it. It's rather sick. Punish pedophiles by winning? Seriously?
