Iowa/Penn state Tuesday score prediction.

I was actually hoping Ferentz would pull this move again during the Iowa State game when Guthrie punted it out of the Iowa endzone. It seemed like Iowa State was in their own territory the entire second quarter.
 
LOL at those of you who think were going to put up 30+ on PSU's D in Happy Valley.

Their offense isn't very good, but their D is top notch, don't kid yourself.

Had this as a toss up game in preseason prediction.

We have recent history of wins vs recent history of losses (confidence vs motivation).

We have overwhelming road stadium vs (hopefully) "3's a charm" for Vandy.

We have weak defense vs weak offense & strong defense vs strong offense.

If Iowa comes out slinging and scores first, crowd is out of it, there is less pressure on defense and Vandy - McNutt - KMM - Davis settle in for a very productive afternoon with Coker to quietly grind out his 100+ = IA 27 - PSU 19.

If Iowa goes 3 & out and PSU scores first it allows PSU to build confidence, road becomes an issue, their defense feeds off the energy and their offense has a break-out game for PSU to win going away 28 - 17.

This, and then it was validated when PSU threw a pick on their next possession.

Easily the greatest single in-game coaching decision by Kirk Ferentz in his entire career here.

who scores the 2 touchdowns in the second half? does JVB throw any touchdowns at all?
 
so JVB throws them in the first half. coker runs for 2 in the first half and hyde's pick 6 equals 35. canzeri breaks his in the third, meaning you have coker getting another in garbage time? just trying to clarify, lol
 
Very afraid of this game - we win it springs us through october with momentum to face the michigans .....lose and spells trouble. I think our offense will put up 24 - I hope the defense can hold them to 21.

lol. No. Vandy throws one in the first half, one in the second half on the opening drive. It really doens't matter on the order, just that we win. I just believe we win big. ;)
 
Are you guys serious with all these predictions of scoring 30+ points? Obviously this is college football and anything can happen, but this is a good Penn State defense (as usual). Granted we haven't played Penn State every year, but the only game we put up more than 30 points on Penn State was that crazy 2002 game.

Its certainly encouraging how good we've looked on offense for the past 5 1/2 quarters, but this is the best defense we've gone against for sure.

Good news is Iowa only gives up 1 TD defensively, bad news vandy throws a pick 6 and they give up a TD off special teams.

Iowa 21

Last second field goal wins it and their student body rushes the field.

Canzeri breaks off two runs of 20+ yards. If Coker has things tenderized and the want to give PSU different looks and rest MarCoke some. McManly opens things up nicely for the run hopefully...
