Iowa Offer to Kendrick Green Pulls It Even w/ 2 Other Programs

According to the article, he was offered on Friday.

Here is his quote. “He told me they liked me a lot but they couldn’t offer me at the time because they had too many people committed. But then they had a kid or two decommit. They had a scholarship open up for me so they offered me. I’ve been talking to them for a while, though,” he said.

So, who decommitted?

I don't think anyone has any info on this situation. They haven't decommited yet, not publicly anyways. They sure blew it on the good thing they had going in eno. He was ALL hawkeye

Wow the whole recruiting class up in smoke? Maybe I should say the 4-5 star kids. I'm getting pretty fed up with how Iowa can't get anybody really good. I really thought things were changing. Lol The jokes on us fans.

maybe we should let all this play out before going off the deep end, just incredible the way you people over react.

Especially when Eno just posted over the weekend that he will be in Iowa City next year in the Black and Gold. Maybe they have been holding on to the scholly since Juan Harris decommitted and finally decided to offer it to him.

Only 4* kids are good?

Daniels and Green are both 3* kids. Haskins is a 3* with a Michigan offer. Martin was a 2* until he went to a camp. Wirfs is a 3* kid who is a High School AA. Corrales 2* is hearing from Penn St. and Okie St.

Take the rankings with a grain of salt. Lots of kids should be ranked higher (not just kids at Iowa). They don't always have to have a 4* behind their name to be really good gets as recruits. Last year we got several of these kids as well. Fant, Jackson, Toks, Rugamba, Jones, Lattimore, Stanley and on and on. All 3* kids, all kids we beat out other quality P5 schools.

Iowa is going to live and die with 3* kids for the most part. If Iowa is pulling in 3* kids like in '16 and '17 (so far) over other P5 schools then the future looks great. I say this because if you look at Green, he looks to be a quality recruit.

We'll see what happens with Eno. I don't think the ship has sailed. I think Calloway is gone. His parents want him close to relatives, either at Arkansas or Texas.

I don't think either guy has officially de-committed but if they're going to take visits, Iowa is going to continue recruiting kids and offering. Also, needs change during a season. Iowa went in wanting two running backs in this class but might not feel like they'll replace Eno with another RB if he jets. They'll have Wadley, Mitchell, Akinribade and Young back next year with Kelly-Martin coming in. So, I wouldn't say that the Calloway and Eno offers would go to players at their positions, necessarily.

It's all a fluid situation. Let's see how it plays out.

BTW, I like Kendrick Green. He's built like a bulldog and very athletic.

Dean I think you know what I mean. There's nothing wrong with a bunch of 2-3 star kids. What I meant is when you have a chance to finally get some big fish and fail to land them that absolutely stinks. We need some kids that don't take till their red shirt junior year to see some playing time. Yes there have been a few to make it sooner than that but this program is so stagnate we really need some very talented kids to start right away to inject some new life into this program. Look at the wide receiver corp.

I'm all for letting it play out. I don't over react and this is probably the first time I've ever said anything to this magnitude but It's getting old.

It would stink to lose Eno, but I doubt Calloway is coming (maybe he is, but he seems to be looking hard at other options). The rest of the guys are high 3* types, so it isn't like the class completely falls apart if we lose a Calloway/Eno. We still have lots of kids with really good P5 offers:

AJ (offer from everyone)
Hankins (Michigan offer)
Turner (Wisconsin offer)
Holmes (Duke, Maryland, Wisconsin offers)
Kelly-Martin (Illinois, Wisconsin offers)
Kallenberger (Nebraska offer)
Colbert (Nebraska offer)
Wirfs (AA team)

This is a a super class if we keep Eno and Calloway. This is a good class even if we lose them. We had a really solid class last year as well. Recruiting is trending in the right direction, hopefully Iowa can keep it that way.
