Ive always felt NCAA wide rankings don't mean much because of the vast differences in systems and competition. The conference rankings mean something and its nice to see Coker playing so great.

Coker has two TD runs in each of the last four games. He has been playing very well lately. If he keeps up his average, he will push 1500+ yards for the season. Combine that with 15+ TDs and he could have one of the all-time great rushing seasons in Iowa history.

Guess that's why I don't understand any Coker bashing. He started out a little slow but seems to have it going now..

Since Brad Rogers has been starting, Coker has been awesome. If they can be at full strength and working together through the spring and summer, there wouldn't be a rushing yardage or TD total that would shock me from Coker next year.

He started out very slow, I understand the criticism back then but he has turned it all around now. When fans gets frustrated with the Hawks its usually because we know the players and team can do more and Coker was a prime example. We all knew he was a stud but early on he was playing so poorly. Now he is the best RB in the Big10 AND we get him for another year, should be fun.

Agreed...add into that the tight end situation being better as well, and it's fun to think about

Coker is the man...he was dinged up through camp, and then had those fumble issues creep into his head. He is only a sophomore too...pretty scary to think about.

Coker's the man.
Not to jump the gun, but I like our chances from now on, as long as Coker can keep punishing people. I was worried about the Nebraska game early on, now I'm not so worried as much as I am anxious...

The drops this week and last arent helping Vandy at all. Clean that up and he looks even more impressive.

CJ was an absolute monster yesterday. He and Rodgers played their ***** off.

Let's hope these kids can keep it pulled together.

On another note... I'm super anxious to see how the D plays next, hoping they keep their confidence and momentum.

Hard to wrap the head around having on of the nations top running backs.. and QB - and only the 6th in the B1G in total Offense. Not to mention being 10th in the conference in Rushing? the number six RB in the nation... and 10th in your conference in rushing??

Talk about not firing on all cylinders.

Agreed 100%. I was just referring to a couple of odd posts I saw even this past week or so ripping on him.. That's what I didn't understand.

Coker is getting it done and glad we have him for another couple years. It would nice if we could get a 2-headed attack going, someone like McCall or Canzeri with the speed to complement Coker's power.

Who's #1 receiver?
And I hope McNutt breaks the single season receiving record set 31 years ago

Not that hard to understand when Coker gets every carry. If McCall had not gotten hurt, I don't think that Coker would not be ranked nearly this high.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. He could leave after next year. I'm not claiming that he would be a 1st rounder, but the generally short lifespan of RBs will have some influence on his thoughts.
