Iowa/Minnesota in the same boat according to NIT chairman.







Anybody else feel like the NIT is acting like that not so hot girl who's making you work way to hard to get any action.

At some point you just say forget it
 


I read the link in the OP... The article said Minny would have to win its first game against NW (which it did yesterday) and also win the next game of the B1G tournament (Michigan). Those were the 2 games needed to win.

Of course if Minnesota won the B1G tournament, they'd automatically get a bid to the NCAA tournament. I hate the notion of winners of tournaments being automatic qualifiers to the NCAA tournament. It creates excitement 'cause anybody can get in, but the quality of the field gets watered down and the regular season means a whole lot less.

IMO, because winners of league tournaments are automatic qualifiers to the NCAA field, determining the best team in college basketball - the NCAA champion in college basketball - can be problematic if the NCAA uses its present tournament.
