I think they take some time to gel and this is why the lose so many games pre-B1G. Their schedule is stronger than almost everyone else's. But that same schedule is probably why they compete so well in March.

Way higher then 70%, I can't see all the icons - but here are teams who have less NCAA appearances on this list then Iowa during that time frame. You can argue that Iowa has had more chances, but you could also argue that if you don't go all that often it's hard to under perform.

Schedules tough, experimemts, gets certain players key experience in tight situations,, baptizes by fire, paces his team, aims to peak when it counts most.

Same questions they asked about Denny Crum 40 years ago when it was noted he always had his Louisville teams playing their best ball at the end of the season. Danny was also not a self promoter and had no problem flying under the radar and staying in Kemtucky's shadow.

His results speak for thenselves.
