Iowa men face early test in Creighton - gazette.com

We had to play a walk on at PG for long stretches of the games as BC was injured.
We would have been mauled anyway, but I'm guessing Gessel and Clemmons are a better PG combo than (early season) Marble and Stubbs.

Yeah, Cartrwright played 20 minutes in that game against Creighton, but the real problem was that Marble, White and McCabe scored 11 points between them. Doubt that will happen again.

Another problem was Cartwright wasn't much of a threat from anything further away than fifteen feet. Gesell brings the three point threat and also the ability to shoot the mid-range jumper and has tremendous vision and passing capabilities. Also just having a 7'1" standing under the defensive basket doing nothing but holding his hands straight up is going to influence the other teams shooting.

Couldn't be worse than the actually game last year...[/QUOT

I think we are forgetting we have 2 point guards who have yet to accomplish anything at the D1 level, so, it could indeed be worse. On one hand I wish the scrimmage was at Creighton as we need to get "road tough" and quit all this crap of staying in-state the majority of our non-conference schedule like last year. On the other hand, given who Creighton is, I'm somewhat glad this is at Carver.

Honestly I don't see much of a home court advantage since it is closed to the public. The only possible advantage is the confortiability level from playing on your home court but after about ten minutes into a scrimmage that would fade away and it becomes just another basketball court. If fans were allowed to participate then that would be a different matter.

A lot of last year we had marble at the point... We could always have him play point if freshman are not doing their jobs

There is a FreedComanche in the football forum.....

:)
Yah now I see him. Do you think it is the same poster? Did you also notice DAhawkeyes? The tone with fire KF sounds just like DAhawkeyes from hawk central.......lol. As much as DA hated KF she/he must be loving all the heat KF takes with every loss.

Sorry to digress their Jack as you know it was always my policy on hawk central to NEVER acknowledge trolls or flamers as that is what they crave the most. Usually if you just ignore them they go away. Also if that is a different DAhawkeyes then my sincerest apologies to that poster.
