Iowa looking at Indian Hills Juco

Iowa desperately needs another scoring option at wing for next year since we lose Gatens.

Are those his stats on that page? It is difficult to determine based on the headings.

Thought we wanted to bring in Freshman and keep the the schollies for kids that can hang with us for four years?

Holy S*** bring him here now.

We need another scorer, preferably one that can shoot from distance to extend zones and open up the floor. Any "slashing" ability would be welcome, as well.

You can't expect freshman to come in and score to the degree that we need it.

yes, please. That would be awesome. Seems to hustle all the time, I noticed after a made shot or dunk he turns and sprints back. No showboating in vid.

Funny, this guy is a former Dayton commit in 2010. He was highly rated by both Rivals and Scout. He is said to be a "lock down" defender which would be nice to have. Not a pure shooter though nor is he a good free throw shooter.

I like his game a lot but I think he's a little undersized to be playing the 3 in the Big Ten. I think he can help us though. We need help at guard too. Marble will play anywhere 1-3 so adding this guy will help. Right now we have Marble and Oglesby and then some unknowns. Ingram, clemons and Gesell being the unknowns. Personally, in my opinion, I think our biggest need is a big body that can bang. I'd be happy to get this guy though. He clearly brings some explosion and quickness we are lacking. I think Marble and Oglesby both are a little on the slow footed, slow decision making side. Marble excels in a one on one clear-out. Oglesby is a spot up shooter that plays conservatively. We need people that play quick. So if this guy comes, Marble can slide to the 3.

Wow, I hope Fran knows what he is doing. But it could be the coach as the other prized recruit in that class left as well.

Am I looking at this correct? He has 2 years of eligibility left?

Next year we are going to have:
1 SR - May
3* JRs - Marble, McCabe and Basabe
3* Sophs - White, Oglesby and Olaseni
5 Freshman - Woodbury, Gesell, Meyer, Clemmons and Ingram
We have one open scholarship remaining this year and another opening up after next year.

I am 100% on board with using the scholarship this year to fill any gap that we may have and to improve talent. If Fran feels we need another player (Juco or Freshman) then bring the kid in. This team is going to be chalked full of talent for the next 4 years - even if no other kids are brought in. That means team chemistry, an understanding of their roles, interchangeable parts and whole lot of success as they grow through coaching.

You also have to factor in the unknown. Injuries, transfers, academics, and quite frankly players not achieving their expected skill level. An active recruiter and great coach knows this so he's always going to have an ace up his sleeve just in case.

It's NITs this year and NCAAs for the next 3 years. Success builds success. Kids will want to come and play with a better team. We will no longer need the kid that wants to improve the program but will be getting kids that want to be part of the success of the program.

Rome wasn't built overnight. The KUs, Dukes, NCs, etc weren't built overnight.

*Yes there are other players in these classes (Stubbs, Stokes) but they aren't playing meaningful minutes this year so I wouldn't expect that to change as the talent level increases moving forward so I didn't count them.

herby must not have gotten ahold of Fran yet and let him know that we need to bank this last scholly.

Nah, he would not complain much about this one as he would graduate with Marble, McCabe, & Basabe.

Those players are not using scholarships.
